   Forgotten Password or Trouble Resubmitting for a Certificate Instructions - Netscape 4.x

 
 

 

If you have forgotten your password or you are receiving errors when you try to reapply for a certificate, you will need to delete all certificate information from your Netscape Profile.

1. Quit Netscape Communicator. 
2. On your computer go to "Start" / "Find"/ "Files or Folders" and click it.

3. A "Find: All Files" box will appear. Set your "Look In" window box to "C".
4. Type in the "Named" window box "Users".
5. Click on "Find Now".
6. Select the "Users" folder which is part of the Netscape application and double click it.

7. Several Netscape Profiles will appear which contain "Your name" or "default". Select and double click the profile name you originally used to apply for your certificate.

8. Several files will appear. Select and delete only these files: "cert7.db, key3.db, secmod.db, and signed000x.db".

After completing this procedure proceed to http://aces.orc.com. By deleting your .db keys on your PC you are literally starting over again to apply for a certificate.
 
First establish the chain of trust.
 
1. Click the "Begin" button to "Accept the certificate root".
2. Remember to click all three boxes on Screen 4.
3. On Screen 6 type in "ORC ACES Root CA" as the nickname.
4. After clicking "Finish" you should return to the aces.orc.com/ca.html page.
 
Next click the "RA" button to "Obtain Your Certificate" and after accepting select the appropriate command on the next page.
